WOMEN TECHSTERS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH NIGERIAN GERMAN CENTRE FOR JOBS, MIGRATION AND RE-INTEGRATION COHORT 3 CLOSING/DEMO DAY PROGRAM

|The Women Techsters program in partnership with Nigerian-German Centre for Jobs, Migration and re-integration continued its training with the 3rd cohort in Lagos state.
The cohort started on 3rd June through 19th June 2019. The training was a two weeks’ intensive boot camp covering Web and Mobile development.
Women Techsters (WT) in partnership with Nigerian-German Centre for Jobs, Migration and Re-integration organized this training for selected women in Lagos state to equip them with veritable technology skills that are essential for decent work and ultimately provide financial independence for the women.
On 21st June 2019, the demo/closing day held at the GIZ Centre for Jobs, Migration and Re-integration. The participants presented their project, which was developed to solve any of the #SDGs goals. They had solutions in the areas of Health (PHALANX, providing secured information systems for patients), Education (EduPlug, making quality education accessible) and Climate Action (Ecomazons, turning waste to cash).
Present at the event were Orimolade Oluwamuyemi (Regional Marketing and Communications Coordinator -MEA Philanthropies, Microsoft), Diwura Oladepo (Executive Director, Tech4Dev), Tobi Ricketts (CEO, TheKitchenspace), Adewale Ajiboye (CTO, Today’s Solutions) who judged and discussed trends and opportunities for women in technology.
Women Techsters (WT) an offshoot of the NWT program aims to train 5 million women between 2019-2030.
The WT-GIZ cohort3 had 23 women graduate from the class.
